Xperia Z Ultra Review
http://techwavy.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-xperia-ultra-redefines-border.html
The Xperia Ultra redefines the border between smartphones
and tablets. The 6.4-inch smartphone is the largest handset to hit the Indian
market carrying with itself a hefty price. The one thing you would love most is
the work done by Sony on the display. The display proves that the saying –
“bigger is not always better” is not the one you can rely on.
The Xperia Z Ultra is the first of a kind to carry Sony’s
new Triluminous display, which is the same panel technology used in the 2013
Bravia TV’s. This effort by Sony results in a stunningly bright and vivid
display with decent viewing angles. The screen is not dull or life-less as it
was in the previous Xperia Z. The smartphone has a build of a good quality and
being very thin at 6.5 mm, it’s quite sturdy. You can’t resist the urge to keep
talking about this smartphone as it is truly a jawdropper in terms of its
design
It boasts a
Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, being the first phone in India to be powered by
it. The chipset features four CPU cores running at 2.2 GHz each, along with
Adreno 330 graphics. Couple all this with a good 2GB RAM and we are looking at
a smooth Jelly Bean experience. Sony has
added some nifty customization to the already-incredible User Interface. Unfortunately,
The very-similar Walkman music player and the speakers have a quite low volume.
The phone also carries an 8 megapixel camera which can be
disappointing if you look at the quality of pictures it captures. Moreover, the
absence of LED flash sums up the problems as the sensor present cannot handle
low-light well. The video recording is smooth and the quality of the video is
also average.
It being priced at Rs 46,990, you might have expected a lot
more features than a good display and a remarkably waterproof body. It might
make a nice addition to your secondary smartphone pockets due to its size,
camera quality and not having atleast 32 GB of onboard memory. Cons aside, the
phone has the most stunning display ever fitted into a smartphone and would
beat any competition, if there’s any!
